Decided to take my 98 Pantera II that my wife got me for Christmas to the Bass Cat dealer for some maintenance. Earlier in the week I decided to drop my Bronco at the transmission shop to get trans fluid changed. Had the fluid changed and the shop said the hoses running to the trans cooler looked old so they changed them. Left my house at 9:00 this morning for the 2 1/2 hour trip to the marina. Things are going great, making good time call the wife let her know Im about 40 minutes away from the marina. Hang up the phone and poof smok all over the place. Pull over, pop the hood, oil everywhere. Look under the truck, looks like transmission oil. Hmm, just had this looked at. Call AAA, they said can tow my truck but I need to leave the boat behind on the shoulder of the highway. Called friends, no one is around to help. Called the Marina and they said they would come and pick it up for me after they closed. This meant leaving the boat on the shoulder for about 5 hours. Finally took actions in to my own hands. Started the truck and found rupture. Right under the hose clamp. Cut the hose, re-attached the hose and was back on the road. Stopped at a store a few miles up and topped of the trans fluid and was good to go. This will be one trip I will remember for a while. The owner at the marina was great. Thought it was very nice of him to offer to come and get the boat for me. Well thats my story.
