Topic: First trip my brother and I have taken boat out alone!

Hey guys just posting on here cuz today my dad let me brother (Logan) and i take out the boat by ourselves for the first time without having him with us…It was quite an experience to say the least we struggled for awhile at first then got on a strong pattern and caught 4 fish over 4 pounds and plenty of 3 and 3.5 pounders and had 2 five pounders and we also kept 9 12-15 inch fish so it ended up turning out to be a very successful day went through 3 full bags of yamamotos man i wish those things lasted longer…heres some pics of how it wenyme with my 5 poundermy brother with his 5.75Me with a 4 pound unit we weighed all the fish just to let everyone know not going Roland Martin on anybody hahaLast edited by basscat35 on July 24th, 2011, 4:44 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Nice fish guys! Glad you have earned your father trust to take the rig out alone. Just remember to always wear your PFD and kill switch when running.

yeah i was going down the lake goin like 40 then all of a sudden the engine like shut off then i heard beeping andlooked over i accidentally pinched the killswitch under my leg and we got the water rush up the back of the boat lol

Sweet! Nice pics! Done that trick with the kill switch a time or two myself. First time out is always the hardest, and takes a few more trips to get easier…As for a dads perspective, hmmm…”nervewracking” comes to mind. All my sons grew up fishing tournaments with me, and learned how to operate a boat basically as soon as they could see over the console. Still it was tough letting them go out by themselves at first. But they were in their own Margay, which was a great boat, safe, and capable, and they all survived, even the Margay,,,,,,, i wish i still had that boat !You boys be careful and when dad gets a new rig he might let you use it,,,,,,,might !

haha that would be awesome im planning on fishing for Arkansas Tech when i go down for college and my roomate has an eyra thats a sweet boat my dads boat is actually 19 years old and its still in good shape! shoot its a year older than me! hes let me take out friends on it all summer but this is the first time my brother and i got to take it it was a great day of fishing too!
