We had our first tourney up here in vermont last weekend. The fishing was awful but I had a chance to open up my 05 pantera classic. The 200 evinrude dfi registered 73 gps and Im sure she had more to give. This was the first time Ive really had her WOT for very long. Boat handled great no chine and felt very comfortable. Hopefully the water level will drop up here and ill actually catch some fish next tourney. Hope you all are having good luck.
Hey Brian Im turning a 26 p trophy plus. When I was out there I had 40 gallons of fuel tourney load of equipment and me and my partner weigh 320 pounds combined. More than the speed to me was the ease of handling no chine walk to speak of and not much steering torque. One thing I was wondering about was it took a long time for the live well to fill and it didnt seem to fill as far as I would think it should if you or anybody else has any ideas that would be great.
I dont use mine much because I rarely fish tournys but when I have filled it Id say it takes 3-5 minutes to fill but enough to take care of bass with a minute or two. Note there is a manual pump in to fill and then turn on the relic and/or aerator. You will find that if you let most the water out at the weigh in the bass settle into that enclave in the bottom by the divider which makes it easier to get hold of the fish. My partner who has a R boat liked that feature once we figured out why it was there. At least I think that is why its there…Im running the same prop now you are but will switch over to the Fury once the debris clears out of the lake. I was light load and got only 71.4 on a short run in a at least 2 chop with white caps. I get a bit of chine walk and torque. Havent really had a chance to make a long run and air it out. Seems there was always boat traffic. Love to see your boat and see how low your motor is. Im wondering if Im a little high. Hope to have some time to play this year mid week when traffic is light.
I had trouble at first with the lever too (below shift on right side near floor). It turns kind of hard and you have to use some pressure to get it to turn all the way. Did you see on the other forum the RR bridge leading to south bay? The water is so high the bottom of the bridge is only about a foot above the water. Will be months before anyone will be going to south bay from the main lake. Good news is the guy who took the picture got 6 1/2 pounder in South Bay. A nice fish!
