Fishing and Places to Stay on Toledo Bend Lake

My fishing buddy and I are looking at spending a week fishing on Toledo Bend Lake in October or November this year. Last year we went to Falcon Lake, Zapata, TX. We had a good time and caught some decent fish but the drive from Alabama to Zapata was a long day. I guess we are looking to stay in the mid-lake area for flexibility. I have seen some motels online in Many and Zowolle. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to stay with the prices being reasonable? Thanks in advance for any info shared.Jim WhitmanOzark, AL

There are plenty of places with probably the high end at Cypress Bend Resort. It is still reasonable and has a restaurant, bar, golf course, gym, etc.. Wildwood resort is nice as well. North Toledo Bend State Park is probably a little bit less in price and I prefer it being a little remote with good water access. Dependent upon how Spartan you want to get, you can find places for less. Im sure more will respond.

Fin and Feather seems to be a really nice place, and its located in one of the most well-known creeks on the lake for big fish. Youll be on Housen Bayou right between Indian Mounds and Six Mile Creek…two other very good areas for big fish as well as lots of fish. I love the lower lake. I could spend a month there and never go above the bridge.
