Anyone fished Turkey Creek area of the lake east of Warsaw? Family has a cabin there but never really fished it. Thinking about a trip up there in September/October and want to get some input.

Those areas can be really good in the fall, Cole Camp, Turkey, Deer and the Warsaw area all are fine in the fall or spring. BCB Admin.

Along with those just mentioned, dont forget Big and Little Buffolo Creek and depending on the lake level, Cooney Creek. Chuck

Fishing is good in all parts of the upper lake, just make sure you have a map/gps for the upper lake getting into some coves can be tricky if the water is down some.

awesome thanks for the feedback. I am assuming they are getting back up shallow so just hit the little pockets in the coves to start correct? I must have caught a million catfish and crappie off the dock, but now want to get into some bass.

That part of the Lake (river) you will always find shallow fish. I have had some of my best catches mid day July, sweat rolling in my eyes so bad they burned, trolling motor kicking up mud.Current and the wind is your friend.

Heading out Friday, I am assuming top water is good in the morning and evening. Correct? what else is in there? grass beds, rock, brush or just nothing but sand? I am bringing a buddy who has nothing and want to make sure he buys for the condition. I have a little of everything but not a lot of duplicate. (still bulking up on tackle)

that end is the best shallow fishin in the state! take some blk blue jigs and fish anything that should hold a bass. I usually only have 2 rods on the deck of my p4 one is a blk bluejig and the other is a blk blue jig . also swim a white jig just under the foam if pitchin the blk blue is not working.Last edited by Earle Hammond on August 31st, 2010, 9:50 am, edited 1 time in total.

Water level should be ok to go into the shallows as the lake is almost at 660 pool. Ive done well there on jigs and shallow cranks. Tim is right about being able to catch a big bag in that area. Swim jig is also good. I use a white or clear strand swim jig depending on the water color.Good Fishing!

Alright Ozarks fishing is in the bag. I was fishing in 1.5 foot of water most of the time and then found little creek past all the shallows that dropped to around 5 ft. We fished forever then I tried a Plumb 10″ worm, Texas rig. Started dragging it over all the uprooted trees and nailed them, slow presentation and they couldnt resist. Not a lot of size, but man was there a bunch of fish!!! Think I messed up my transponder on the trolling motor, but I think I can fix it. I got a good opportunity to put my boat through the ringer and could not believe how well it did.
