I have never fished any lake in Texas. I was going to head to Sam Rayburn on Friday and try my luck. Can anyone give me an idea of areas to fish. I will probably put in at Cassell Boykin Park.
The normal high volume areas which are easy to find on the map would be five fingers, and veach but I would also try the canyons. I havent fished on Sam since late June due to surgery but all three have good vegetation for the early am topwater bit and deeper structure for the rest of the day.Good luck
My first real experience on Rayburn was at the Owners Invitational earlier this year so I cant really tell you anything. The only reason Im commenting is to give you an idea where those areas are in relation to Cassell Boykin. There is a bridge just south of the ramp. “The Canyons” is an area located kind of northwest from the launch. Veach and 5 Fingers would be below the bridge and on the opposite side of the lake and quite a little distance down the lake.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
