I am a very high-tech person, with very low-tech preferences for critical systems. I have been running boats since I was 10. Ive never found it an odious task to bend over and insert the drain plug. Might be a bit worse for those that actually insert the drain on the _inside_ of the boat (yes, I have seen several that do this). Ive had exactly one drain plug failure in almost 60 years of boating. When I bought my 92 astro my son and I took it out for the first time, and we each thought the other had put the plug in. Zero hole-shot pointed out the error pretty soon, 30 minutes of bilge pumping later and we were on our way.Doesnt take much to ruin your batteries. Just get em under water, assuming they have a water level you have to check. 10 seconds bent over seems like a bargain compared to replacing batteries and anything else in the back that is not intended to be flooded.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
