Me again. Thanks for the responses. Now to show my ignorance, which panel were you talking about BCB. So far things have not went very well for me. I have had the boat for about 2 months, bought the boat used about 2 months ago and between having to go out of state and hurricanes and leaking seals and water in the lower unit, I have to yet to put it in the water. I hope warranty will cover the lower unit. Sorry for the long post. Just starting to get a little frustated. Also thanks BCB for the letter and cap.

Sorry forgot to tell you which post. It was about the HB 987 HB matrix 97. The 97 at the bow has less volts than the 987 at the console. You said it might be a connect behind a panel where the wires change sizes. I would like to know where this panel is. thanks for your help.

dragginup, I have a HB 797C2 in the bow. Lowrance LXX-28C at the drivers seat. Been out on the lake about 8 times with the HB so far since I put it on the cat. There has been times I pulled up the trolling motor, left the unit on, buzzed acoss the lake on the big motor, when setting the trolling motor back down I have noticed a “pop up” on the HB screen saying “low voltage”. I always have pushed exit, it goes away and no issues. This has happened 3 or 4 times??? I thought it to be from cranking the big motor? My batteries are serviced and are working great. Could this be normal, or do I also have a connection issue or maybe I should be turning the HB off?? Xducer is on the trolling motor. Or maybe, do what I have been doing, just fish? Next time I will check the actual voltage on the HB and let you know what I see.Last edited by basscatsmeow on October 1st, 2008, 2:23 am, edited 2 times in total.

basscatsmeow If it does it again I would go system check on both units and compare the voltages. If there is a big difference and the front is lower then that is the same problem I have. And it could be a connection issue. I am green as grass about these things. Thanks for the reply. If I figure it out I will post what the problem and fix is.

It could be a voltage drop when cranking the engine in some cases. Though we do suspect a connection at this time. We know the post now, though if it has been verified to have low voltage with a voltmeter then it will have to be traced backwards from the low point found. We think this task may be better suited to a Technician. Verify it and visit with your dealer. We want to make sure you get fixed up if something is wrong.
