I installed a new 101 Fortrex 52″ shaft on my 09 Cougar FTD. Got everything mounted properly with no issues. But, when I adjusted the shaft to a shallow water position and try to put in back into the stow position the cables from the foot petal to the top of the motor head are too short and will not go fully into the stow position. The only way it will go fully into the stow position is if I adjust the shaft to a deeper water position so that there is enough cable length. If I forget to do this while the shaft is in a shallow water position and I pull it up to stow it will rip the foot pedal right out of the recess where it is mounted either that or the cables out of the trolling motor. It seems cause the recess area for the foot pedal is to far up towards the front of the boat it is causing the issue. Any one run into this? Does Minn Kota make a longer cable version for mounting to a Basscat? Seems strange since my Motorguide did not have this issue at all. Thanks!
