Fortrex Removal

You should be able to deploy it and aim the foot and raise the shaft so it doesnt bind on the step, then just undo the allen headed bolt that holds the unit to the mount. Ive always taken mine off or on while its on the trailer

From a safety viewpoint, I always remove the pin and release the piston first, while in the stowed position. That way you avoid any accidents, as the piston is very powerful. Then, deploy and remove the allen bolt as suggested above. The bow guard will lift right out of the mount. Reverse the procedure when re-installing.

It can be done in the stowed position and you dont have to worry about the pressure on the strut. Just remove the 1/4″ allen bolt and slide the trolling motor back and up. To reattach, deploy the mount til the strut catches it (apx halfway), then raise and slip the bowguard over the bracket. The weight of the trolling motor will bring the mount arm into a partially deployed position. rest the lower unit on the trailer and attach the 1/4″ allen bolt.

The Ultrex mount and the Fortrex mount will use the same holes on the boat. However, like said above, the Ultrex will not go on the Fortrex mount but the Fortrex will fit the Ultrex mount.John
