Front/bow graph mounts

I am in the process of swapping to new electronics. Sherm is making me a console mount for Helix10, but I need suggestions on what to use up front for another Helix10. Balzout? Ram? Any other options?

I am getting ready to install a new front graph, and am leaning heavily towards this mount. Its a bit pricey, but its built solid as a rock. The rough water guys from up north speak highly of it. I initially read about it on a walleye board. Im sorry the image is so small. Cisco makessome nice products however in this case we would go a different directon. Consider the BallZout mounts, even large RAM mounts and the Kong Mount is another option. We really like BallZout better than most and you can change arm length.

I like the balzout mount it looks very rigid. I use the big ram mount though. I want a little give in the mount due to the shock load. Imo if you dont have some give the shock load either transfers to the electronics or the fiberglass. Either cant be good in the long haul. Sometimes I have a crazy way of thinking. In my job we do a lot of Salvage type work. In many cases if you build a component so strong it dont a some “GIVE”. The weak link will transfer somewhere else. have a T&H Kong mount on bow and love it. It is rock solid

I have a HDS 10 on the large ball RAM on the front of mine. I agree with Redngoo that a little movement is not a bad thing.The ability to easily adjust it allows you to tuck the unit into the cut out area before running so it isnt a big sail that is blocking your view as you drive down the lake is the good thing about the RAM design. No matter how tight you lock it down though, the RAM mount does still move.

You can put some 3M weather black strip tapearound the hall and they will stop moving.

Ive been using one of these for years. Run a 12 up front and another 12 beside the gear shifter both on Ram mounts and they DONT MOVE. This will get any Ram mount tight where it wont move without using tape, etc. http://www.gpscheap.com/showproduct.asp … wAodM9MIjQ
