Do all the Basscats have a transducer in the hull at the bow and if so, is it terminated for the Lowrance or Humminbird, or customers choice: Also, here is a pic of the hull from one of Basscats build pics. Can you point/circle the apx area the transducer is located:BTW, to those of you that have a Lowrance terminated transducer installed in the hull and wanting to change to Hummingbird, the sonar adaptor for the “L” series Motorguide will go from the Lowrance transducer to the Humminbird unit.JohnJones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird

Approximately 24 inches behind the piece you see in the nose. It can vary some depending on models.

Well, like they say….You learn something every day. Do you install the transducer based on the order placed for the build, which would include electronics in most cases? I think many BCB owners use that glassed in transducer for back up in case of failure of the one on the troller. Most want their transducer right on the troller as close to the head unit as possible for more accurate positioning on a structure. Using a transducer placed farther back will make it more difficult for precision positioning, and, because of a through hull shoot, will also lose some clarity.

This is becoming obsolete and a backup for a broken transducer or wire as mentioned. The new down imaging transducers will go hull mount on HumminBird and not Lowrance, and most prefer those troller mounted. If your DI is hull mounted on the HumminBird unit you just increase power on the settings and it works great.
