The first thing I would like to say is that I absolutely love my 2015 Eyra. It fits my fishing style perfectly, the ride is amazing and I am always complimented on how beautiful the boat is. Secondly, the customer service has been outstanding. From Andy Greene at Anglers Choice to Richard in the warranty department I am more than happy with the response on any issue I have had. My problem is the AMOUNT of issues I have had in the following order:1. I had to order and have new fenders installed because they were not buffed out at the factory before delivery. (400 mile round trip)2. I had to repair a power wire the day I got it home.3. I had to order and replace the NEXSYSLINK switch due to mine failing.4. I had to take it in for a miss in the engine which proved to be a kink in a fuel line due to the way it was routed (came out of pocket $120 on this one because I didnt have time to take it to a BCB dealer 200 miles away and they didnt find it when I took it in for my first service even though I brought up the miss)5. Weekend before last I had to reattach the live well cable.6. When I turn on my live wells it take about a full minute or two before it actually starts to pump water in. I can hear the pump turning but no water pumps in for a long time (still havent figured this one out yet I have just been using the extra pump to get water in the wells faster)7. Now last weekend when I uncovered the boat, the paint on the BCB emblems on the steering wheel is peeling off. I havent had time to call Richard on this yet as I am currently at sea. With the boat only being 7 months old and basically only a few months of weekend use (only 25 hours) due to my sea schedule in the Navy, this is WAY too many issues. I have a tournament next weekend in Florida and for the first time with any boat I have owned, I am concerned that something else will break while 700 miles from home or have live well issues that will cost me lost fish. Has anyone else had this kind of experience? BCB PLEASE look at your QA process, this can not be normal with Bass Cats reputation. While these issues seem small, they all equal precious time off the water to fix. With the limited time I get on the water and the amount paid for my custom built boat, that should not be happening. I will call Richard about my livewell pump and Steering wheel next week when Im on land again. Its embarrassing when you take your friend out for a day on the water the he looks over, sees the paint pealing then notices the long hesitation in the pumps and asks “Isnt this a brand new boat?” FRUSTRATED!
I have to somewhat agree with this…I had major issues with the paint on the trailer and the basic trailer construction….First time I had the boat out for a tournament the taillight fell out of the trailer and one of the Bass Cat stickers fell right off the boat…It sucked to have to take the BS from your buddies after spending over 50k on a Bass Boat…I also live a long way from a dealer and took care of the issues myself except the paint on the trailer… I dropped the trailer off at the dealer and Bass Cat took it from there and repainted the trailer…Bass Cat has been good to work with and hopefully the trend will continue through new ownership…My feelings for the Bass Cat brand have definetly been tainted from my current boat experience…My 15 year old Jag was flawless..Last edited by brnzbaklvr on May 9th, 2015, 12:14 am, edited 1 time in total.
All we can say at this time is we are sorry for our inconvenience and that we will do our best to resolve the issues you have had. There are absolutely no new parties at BCB and all staff remains the same. New ownership has no influence on any issues. Plus this boat wold have been produced under former ownership. We dont know the time span on brnzbaklvr, though obviously Cappy yours is fresh. Please communicate with your dealership next week and request them to speak with their representative. The representative who handles your dealership can convey the situation and the factory might like to visit with you in person. Richard is presently out on National Guard duty for two weeks, otherwise we feel they would communicate with him.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on May 9th, 2015, 12:57 am, edited 1 time in total.
BCB,Thank you for the response. I will communicate with Andy Greene early next week on my return to home port.
With that amount of issues I think I would be peeved.Hope its not the future of how things are done. Here is my experience.2010 puma ftd. It will be 5 years old in June.So far I had to1. Glue in the trailer lights as they fell out.2. replace my front roller most likely due to me driving in too hard when loading.3. repair a lower unit seal on the motor.4. replace the o-ring on the drain plug.Pretty happy with the boat.
On my 4th FTD. Had a few issues. They were all resolved quickly and very businesslike. Couldnt be happier. Ready for number 5.
1958, I hope so too! I did 5 years of research on finding the right boat before I made the decision. I would like to point out that I made no mention of the sale of the company and my post was not pointed in the direction in any way. My concern is quality assurance regardless of who owns the company or who is staffed. I just want my boat right, that kind of money is a once in a lifetime purchase for me.
I think if you use the aerator and the recirc pumps to try to fill your live wells it will take a lot longer. I use the pump in to fill my wells, then turn on the aerator and recirc pumps. I think I read some where the aerator pumps in new water but only 20 percent of the time it is running, the other 80 percent is aerating. My decals also came off my steering wheel, 2013 PIV, parts promptly hooked me up with new decals. I still have not put them on yet, a black sharpie does wonders. Good luck with the boat and I am sure Bass Cat will do every thing possible to get things right. EdLast edited by P4SHOcat on May 9th, 2015, 3:06 am, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks for the info P4SHOcat. That would sure make sense if thats the case with the aerator, so there could be nothing wrong at all. The A-10 touch pad manual only states.RECIRC and AERATOR – Push once to activate MAN mode which gives instant power to the selected pump. Push again to activate 5 (one minute on, five minutes off). Push again to activate3 (one minute on, three minutes off). Push again to turn pumps off. Pushing again will repeat process. All my previous boats (this is my first Bass Cat) pumped immediately when switched on. Bass Cat has not let me down to date, they always take care of my issue right away and the customer service is spot on so I know they will get it fixed. Just frustrating with a new issue every month and the closest dealership is so far away.Last edited by Cappy on May 9th, 2015, 3:23 am, edited 1 time in total.
Not trying to bash Bass Cat they have been great at taking care of my issues….Working for a large auto manufacturer I am deeply aware of how critical initial quality can be for customer satisfaction….Sometimes things get by QC but it can bite you in the butt long term….especially with vendor components….I know the trailer paint issue has been pretty frequent and am confident that Bass Cat has taken steps to correct the problem…It was expensive for them I am sure but it also cost me a few bucks in mileage(around 1000 miles total) and time off from work..I knew that warranty issues could be a problem when I made the choice to go with Bass Cat and the closest dealer was 5 hours away…So it is what it is…Last edited by brnzbaklvr on May 9th, 2015, 10:13 am, edited 1 time in total.
