Fuel Gauge ?

I have an 05 Cougar FTD w/smart craft gauges. The left gas tank is reading correctly but the right side doesnt read at all. Could this be a sending unit issue?

YEs, it could be a sending unit, though it also could be a wire loose. If those are WEMA sending units they are very dependable. Switch the wires from left to right and see what that does. Just run a pigtail lead and reverse them left to right and vice versa. BCB

Im actually getting a false reading. The tank is empty but the gauge reads 25%. Connections are tight. Does the sending unit have a float?

I have the opposite problem, the tanks om my 04 Cougar FTD read 10% and give me a low fuel warning and when I fill them up I can only put 15 to 16 gallons in each tank. I guess good news is 10% has 10 gallons left in them. Is their a calibration that needs to be done on the smart craft gauges? ksaggie

Yes, somehow the gauge need to be reset and the SC systems allow this.
