Fuel Gauge issues

My fuel gauge on 15 puma is acting crazy. One tank shows empty when I know its not and other tank reads off and on while Im running.

Sounds like a wire connection and it could be the senders, though odd to have both fail. They are WEMA and usually these are high quality senders.

My 15 Puma does the same thing. I have to wiggle the wires on the tank to get it to read properly every time I fill up.

Try unplugging the wires at the sending units, clean the connections really well with some light sandpaper, put a little dab of petroleum jelly on them and plug them back in. I did that a couple times on my 2014 Eyra and it helped regain a proper tank level. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

Played with wires today and got both reading correctly. Guess I need to redo connectors.

Three things in common on this post, your all Cajun, or obviously Louisiana, which means corrosion is possible in the marsh down there.

No doubt BCB. Even if you arent in the brackish waters just the wet environment and extremely high humidity can be more harsh on electrical items than in many areas. Gotta stay on top of that stuff. A little off subject but wondered how the brackish water affected the trailer and equipment long term?

It deteriorates it. Many trailers in the Baton Rouge area have their bunk brackets rusted off.

I can attest to the corrosion issues, in my 01 P3 I have fought the corrosion bug and have soldered most of the crimp connections to the wires, and clean them regularly as here in Houma everything is brackish and the bunk brackets on the trailer need attention (rust inhibitor and new paint) every couple of years to keep them from rusting away.
