Fuel Level Mystery

2015 Cougar FTDThis has happened several times….Ill run the port tank down until the motor stops so I can see where my fuel gauge reads….motor stops usually at around 1/4 tank!The last two times I did this I decided to fill the tank to see if it actually holds 26 gallons!I can only get 13 gallons in before it tops out! Two times in a row….13 gallons!Whats up?

sounds like the fuel pick up is short by 50%. You should be able to look at the fuel tank and see the level in the tank. I believe 15 was the last model that did not have that stupid govt mandated bladder inside the tank.

I had a broken pick up tube one year. Had a crack near the bottom. Would pull fuel until the crack was at the fuel level line. Pretty easy fix.
