??? Fuel Line ?? Do i need to do it

Every boat with older style fuel ines that are not A1 or A2 should have them changed out. Especially those gray Mercury/Mariner lines that are not ethanol approved. The interior liner gives out and they clog a fuel filter. On some older engines there is not a large capacity of surface for trash particles and these need a new line to prevent fuel pump, starving lean burn and other issues. Please replace you fuel lines on older boats from the fuel supply to the engine for most applications.

Mcvoan:I was the one that used the reducer. ( it is not a part of BCB kit).The fuel line from the XR6 150HP which is what i have has a smaller I.D than the BCB kit fuel line going to the motor The BCB line which is a little bigger is a great idea being an X drag racer you can never have enought fuel going to the motor.The other reason i used a reducer was i do not believe in taking a hose clamp and screwing it down on a small fitting it can cut into the hose and then you have a big problem. A reducer will have the right I.D. for both hoses.If the fuel line from your motor is the same I.D. as the BCB line you should not have to use a reducer.If you do have to use a reducer take the BCB line along with a small pice of the fuel line from your motor to a auto parts store (i used NAPA) and they can fix you right up.Attached is photo of my fuel line reducer i used.Best of luck

while on the subject. what is the easiest way to drain a tank? i have one side that has had the fuel in it for a while and when i switched to that side last weekend my motor started missing at higher rpms and almost would die when idling (rpms down in the 4-500 range) just put in new plugs and think it is old gas. thanksbrad

I have seperate 26 gal tanks and have been using one mostly. the other is between 3/4 and full. I always use quickleen and stabil but the gas has been in that tank for a while (drivers side and my partner is on the heavy side so trying to balance boat). last weekend i ran the port tank down and switched to drivers side and almost immediatly started having a miss at 4000 + RPMs and was idling in the 400-500 range and almost killing the motor. changed plugs, drained seperator and filter. my question would be would 5-6 gallons of 91 do any good or would i then need to drain 26 gals?
