Fuel line replacement??

Hey guys, when replacing fuel line do I go ahead and replace line all the way to the fuel pump or just to were the gray line ends? On my 04 Merc 200 EFI, gray line ends just as it enters the engine cowl and is then connected to a black fuel line the rest of the way to the fuel pump.Thanks, Richard

I asked the same question late last year. Replace all the way to the pump. Watch the bulb. The one I got with the kit I got from BCB (Johnson kit) had a kink in it when it was packaged by the manufacture so I had buy a second one for another $30.

I also replaced mine all the way to the fuel pump. Thats one less connection/restriction that you have in the line and eliviates any future issues there. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

Thanks guys! I decided to go ahead and replace all the way to the fuel pump. The pump-up bulb is not getting firm after a lot of pumping. Should I be concerned since the EFI has a fuel pump?

Sounds like a faulty primer bulb, and the new ones are ethanol resistant if you get recent production. Those within the last few months would qualify.
