Anyone ever experience a fuel smell from the port side rod locker? And no I didnt overfill the fuel tank as I havent put fuel in the boat for a week or so…. Oh yea the boat is a 07 Puma Thanks,

Turn the switch that controls your gas on the back of the boat to the off position when not using your boat. That will help eliminate some of it !!

The tanks will will permeate a little bit and let some of the odors out. There is a coast guard spec on the permeation and all our tanks are within these specs. It is generally strongest in the port side rod locker because there is an open channel that runs straight from the tank to the rod locker. Not saying you shouldnt cover your bases to make sure there is not another more serious issue here, but the odor in the port rod locker is not uncommon. You can leave that lid open from time to time to let some of the odor dissipate. BCB

Yes it will travel to the rod box. I keep mine in the garage all the time when not fishing and with no air circulating it did get bad on me one time. I always prop the rear lid up with a water bottle just a little making sure the light isnt on and havent had problems since. I was cautious thinking the garage would smell u but it doesnt, and i leave mine stored for 3 weeks at a time.
