Took my 2011 Basscat Puma Ftd with a 250 merc proxs out on the lake today for the first time. Put the boat in the water still on the trailer and let the motor idle while I was checking everything out. Once I was ready I launched the boat and put it in reverse. The motor died. I put two and two together that it was a fuel problem. Went and felt the bulb in the battery compartment and it was soft. Primed it a few times and she fired right back up. Checked the bulb a lil while later while the motor was running and it felt good. So after I felt the rush for a good while I shut the motor down and started fishing. Maybe 45 minutes later went to start it up again and she started, went to idle away and it died. Felt the bulb again and it was soft. once again I primed it and she fired right up. I know this is not normal, I shouldnt have to keep priming the bulb. What do you guys think?

No, they pushed it to the limit on bulbs and it was recent years only that the bulbs were ethanol resistant. Fuel lines were resistant though the bulbs were not.
Ok so took the old primer off and put a new one on. Not getting any pressure to the primer at all. Which way does the primer go. When I took the original primer off the Arrow was facing the opposite direction of the arrows on the fuel lines. Are all the arrows supposed to pointed in the same direction?

I believe Ill just go fishing!
