Currently running a 25P Fury, 250 ProXS, on my 2015 Cougar FTD. I am thinking that I need a little extra help getting out of hole that the new 4 blade from Mercury possibly can provide. I am running a pretty heavy load with lots of tackle, 52 gallons of fuel, 4 batteries, two Talons, and plus my big butt along with my partners. If you make a change from a three blade to a four blade, do you stay with the same pitch? I was wondering so as to not bog the engine with that extra blade to turn. I know these new Fury props have move PVS holes that the three blade. Hope some of you guys have some experience to draw regarding a four blade. Thanks
Id prolly try a 25 pitch Trophy plus or Fury for your described load.
Just re-read your original post I see you are running a 25 Fury. You may wanna give Croxton a call. See what he says about adding PVS holes.
the fury 4 is not available until september. According to their press, you will be able to run the same pitch in the fury 4 that you are currently running in the 3 bladed fury. I tried to get the fury 4 for my caracal for the same reasons you listed. My dealer suggested I give the bravo 1xs a try.

I know their press says same pitch as the Fury 3 – but the Fury 3 is for 175hp+ and the Fury 4 is 200hp+. I also wonder if the Fury 4 will be anything like when they rolled out the ProMax prop. Between testing and market rollout the design completely changed and if you werent running a tater chip hull – it wouldnt get out of the hole. It doesnt pay to get too intent on a new concept prop until theyve sold a bunch of em and you get real world results. Being an “early adopter” means guinea pig when it comes to boat props…..Best hole shot props out there are the Bravo 1XS as stated and also the Croxton Razor4 XL. Either one may cost you a mph or two on top – but theyll lift the butt and get it out of the hole in a hurry – especially with a load. I dont know that every prop out there isnt a compromise to some degree. BTW – if more venting will do it for the Fury3 – send it off to Croxton and hell drill additional venting to help the hole shot.

The original Fury seemed to sell faster than could be produced right out of the gate. Heavily pre advertised it was the next big thing. Its not like buying a first year model new vehicle. This will be for certain applications but more than likely BassCat will know if it works on any of their rigs fully loaded down for fishing. Now lets not forget a company called Hydromotive that builds a fine prop as well. But as with most things these are all opinions as to best props. I ran trophy on my P II and had no problem running down P IIs using a tempest. It comes down to set up and performance.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Heres my take-been there done that. Think that rig with proper setup should turn a 26 Fury. I have a 27 Bravo FS and a 26 Fury for 2012 Eyra with 250 XS. Fury is a little bit of a slug coming out of the hole-Bravo is a beast. Do you have all your PVS plugs out of the Fury 3 out-take them out. Extra venting on the Fury 3 will help. Ideal RPMs with proper venting should be around 3800 RPM. If that doesnt get it up and out of there you might try the Bravo. Bravo gives excellent hole shot, handles better in rough water also, excellent stern lift and awesome mid range punch and overall easier to drive. Bravo is difficult to load, trailer depth is critical to get it loaded.Last edited by 1hoteyra on July 1st, 2016, 4:53 am, edited 1 time in total.
The propeller is not released yet and was introduced at the Classic. Prototypes were run through February and March with decisions to revisit variances in manufacturing after production props were tested. We do not know final release and we have not been able to place an order for the part numbers.

Marketed for light to medium weight boats and advertised with excellent hole shot. People with bullet hulls reported they couldnt get them to come out of the hole. Sold a ton of them too. Poor resale market for an expensive door stop. Only happy folks were on Scream & Fly. People who were a part of the prototype program said the finished models performed nothing like what they tested. Nothing against the fury 3 – its a great prop. I just dont trust new prop hype until real world numbers roll out. Understand as well – setup is everything. Without proper setup the best prop wont perform until you find the ideal height for your typical load.
Cheapest, fastest, and reversible step is to just have extra pvs holes drilled and maybe have prop worked. Ronnie Gilbert did great work on my 25 and 26 fury for my eyra with similar load.C.O.D. Jr. III
