fury on P3?

Anyone on here tried running a fury on a P3 with a 200 3L Optimax? Ive been running a 25 Trophy which performs well, but I dinged it again and Im thinking maybe after reworking the prop 3 times already, maybe its time to get a new prop.

I did on my PIII with the same motor.I went with a 24p Fury.Much improved holeshot,excellent midrange punch and the topend was a mile an hour or so better.The all around performance and handling ws improved.I ran a 25p trophy and a 25p tempest.The Fury was the ticket.I spoke to several people regarding the pitch including BCB,they all recommended droping dow to a 24p.I was turning around 5700rpms @ 72.3 on the gps.

I have an 03 P3 with 200 Opti and feel the 25 Fury is much better on midrange, and hole shot … and maybe a tad better than a 25p Tempest at WOT.

I have 2003 P3 with 2.5 L 200 EFI. The 24 Fury was the prop for me. Your 3 L might turn a 25.

With the Yamaha 3.1L on my PIII, the 24 Fury was an excellent replacement for the 25M. I didnt lose either RPMs or speed, and the holeshot and acceleration are much improved. I also run my motor a tad deeper than before. The Fury acts like it has a higher pitch which is why the 24 was recommended to me as a replacement for the 25M.

Will I likely need to lower my jackplate with a fury? That will be a little inconvenient because of the way I mounted my SI transducer.

Bobo, I would guess no, unless you have it unusually high now. Its not that the Fury needs to be low, its that the Yamaha 25M gives a huge amount of bow lift, and Yamahas seem to like to be run high. So mine was. There is less lift to a Fury so lower is better on my rig, but it is still about an inch up on the plate.

I concur with all ofthe above!My 01 P-III responded very well to the Fury 24p. This prop on a 3.1 Yamaha V-Max 200.Couldnt be happier, esp in the summer when the heat and humidity start bringing us all down!

I am bumping Rev Limiter (5750) with 25p Fury, Merc 200 Opti 3.0L. With a fairly light load WOT 71 before hitting max rpms. If a 24p will have the same to greater hole shot, same mid range, but gain couple of MPH over the 25p I might have to try that myself.

rebeav: if you are bumping rev limiter with 25P, a 24P will be worse. I decided to try a 25P fury and its on the way. Id rather have a slow hole shot than have a prop that hits the rev limiter. I tend to go easy on my motor coming out of hole anyway.
