Fury Prop on Puma

I bought a 26″ Fury for my 2007 Puma/Merc 250 Pro XS. I put the solid PVS plugs in and the motor would not spin getting on plane. The hole shot was adequate but I obviously have the wrong PVS plugs in the prop. Anyone running this set up and which plugs to you recommend? Other than the hole shot the prop performed very well though differntly than my 27″ Trophy Plus. Thanks in advance for your input. Alan

My 2009 Puma came with all of the plugs out… i.e. “no Plugs or blow out ring”… It seems like the ticket so far.

No plugs in mine. Hole shot great with any load.

Every rig will be a bit different and the PVS combo will have to be tuned to your rig.

I know every rig is different but I have a feeling no plugs is the right set up for me. I have pulled the plugs and will run it again tomorrow. I expect better results. Thanks again!

I have two large plugs (holes) in mine and it is twice as fast out of the hole than the Trophy. I had to raise my plate somewhat and have gone 77 mph with two people and lots of stuff. People talk about the mid-range being good but my Trophy seems to beat the Fury in that department. I am pulling one more plug next time out. Phil, I would be very interested in your comparison to the Trophys you ran for so long. What do you think of the Fury mid-range and over all? Apparently you still like it.

I usually prefer the big Trophy props (28) that I usually run, but cant get a decent hole shot with it. Therefore, the Fury is what Im running at this time. It ran 78.2 this weekend with a co angler and all my/his stuff and 40 gallons of fuel. I cant complain about that and there will be no one pass you at that speed. The 28 Trophy that I have is about 1 mph faster, but this Fury will blow it away on holeshot and acceleration. My next prop will be a 27 Fury! May lose some acceleration and hole shot, but could see a top end speed increase as a result. My opinion is there is no out of the box prop that has the all around characteristics of the Fury!

Hey Phil, Where in your opinion would be the best place to buy a Fury. Ive seen them at a couple of places for $469. Would you know of any place with a better price. Also, I would rather buy one from someone local or someone reccommended by one of the board regulars. I think A 25 fury would be a good choice for my classic. $469 sounds better than what i have seen… have not looked too much, but seen them for $525 in texas
