Anyone still running a Trophy on a Puma? I have both 26 & 25 Furys. With my 225 Pro Xs with Torquemaster, lightly loaded with just me I can touch 80 @ 5950 with 26 & hit limiter at 78 with 25 Fury. Boat basically empty with just me & 10 gal of fuel in rear. Hole shot & top end are great, but I am considering slapping a 27 Trophy on it to soften the ride. Only complaint on my setup is rough water ride with the Fury. Anyone still running the Trophy & what kind of numbers to expect compared to Fury?

80 with 225. You better stay with what you have. Hole shot and top end great……….I dont understand what youre after.

Thats pretty steep for a 225. Best Ive ever seen with that motor was 77 turning a stock 27 Trophy. I can hardly touch that (80) with a 250 but I dont run light. To answer your question in my experience Ive seen my highest speeds with a trophy but all around performance was nothing near what I get out of the Fury. Ive sacrificed the top end for the all around performance. But I did own a worked 28 trophy at one time that would smoke it on a FTD !

80 is pretty dang good but if you are looking for a stock 27 Trophy Plus, Ive got one for sale over in the garage sale.

Lol guys…ask Wiliam over at Bowden. He hit 80+ running my boat after replacing a cracked oil line. It runs about 76 with 2 guys & tourney load when its calm. Not a Fury hater here, I just think I can get a smoother ride out of it on Rayburn since 3-6 footers are usually the norm there. Trying to save my back & arms on those windy days. I hear Phil still has his modified Trophy…how is that rough water ride compared to the Fury on that FTD?

I pack light at all times in my boat…run of (2) saddle tanks in rear & a couple gallons under seat in case I get lost. Weight definitely makes a difference with my 225.

The reason I no longer run a Trophy is it gives up performance in all areas except on the top end. Likely the fastest and easiest to drive of all the Merc props on a Cat, but all around performance suffers.
