Let me tell ya a story.About a month ago, I had a customer come in and told me about going to Little Rock and having a stent since last time I saw him (which was in the summer). I discussed with him and he told me of a program at Little Rock Heart Hospital where for $50.00 they take a Magnetic imaging of the heart and check for Calcium. Calcium turns to plaque. He said his scores were high, so they scheduled a hearth cath, found blockage and he received a stent. Because of my family history of heart disease, Me and Karen decided to have the test done. As expected, Karen scored a 1.0, my score was over 700. A score of 300 is high and the lower the score the better. This caused a followup with a heart doctor, then a heart cath, which showed an 80% blockage in one of the arteries, that led to a stent. The stent was done last week. This surgeon goes into the wrist with the cather, then to the heart and its done basically as an outpatient. I went in at 8am and was back in the hotel room by 2pm, after going and getting lunch. Im sure this one customer coming in saved me from the trials of a heart attack and possibly worse.Im telling each one that reads this in an effort to pay it forward and hope, if you have any doubts about your heart health, you will have the simple test done.Have a Merry ChristmasJohnJones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird
Wow…..an early Christmas gift for sure.Glad it all worked out and you are OK
Surely glad you got that test done John. Merry Christmas for certain! I had a heart cath done about a month ago, they found some minor blockage, but decided I didnt need a stent.
Glad you caught that. Merry Christmas

Coronary calcium scans ARE NOT recommended for routine heart evaluations for coronary disease. Too many false positives and there is risk in a heart cath. Only folks with moderate risk are advised to have such scans.Moderate risk is determined:https://www.heart.org/gglRisk/main_en_US.htmlDont give doctors too much credit. Glad the boys at Arkansas Heart did good. C.O.D. Jr. III
Glad you caught it, and they got you fixed up. Im not one to go to doctors unless I have a problem, and hadnt been in over 30 years till I had my heart attack last year. I didnt have a clue I had a problem till it felt like a mule kicked me in the chest, and I broke out in a profuse sweat and then the lights went dim. I got 4 stents stuck in me, and am doing good. My stents are in the rt. coronary, l. coronary, circumflex, and l. anterior arteries.
Like Spanky I didnt have a clue either until I had the heart attack at 56. Thankfully in my career I had taken CPR and Defibrillator training so I recognized the signs of a heart attack and knew to have the wife call 911 (after cussing my self out). 100% blockage in one artery and a couple lesser blockages. Two stents that night and 3 more for the others Im good to go. Glad they caught caught you early. Word to the wise, dont put off check ups, if you dont feel right get checked, and if you get a chance to learn CPR and get defibrillator training do it. The a$$ you save may be your own not to mention your wife, child, or grandchild.
Really glad you caught that in time John! This will be one of your merrier Christmases. Wishing you many more to come.
Glad it all worked out John. I had a heart cath and was not a candidate for a stent. Left artery was totally blocked and that part of my heart is now nonviable. I now seem to have nerve damage in my right arm. It has been a battle. I am still fishing but now doing it left handed. I am not sure how common that is.Dan
