Has anybody installed a Garmin in-hull transducer in their cat? Trying to figure out the best spot and challenged with space and unevenous of the fiberglass in bottom of boat. Wondered if someone else already mastered this.

Ive spent the last 3-4 weeks measuring, analyzing and rethinking. Tried to fit a P79 into the hull of a P2. Finally came to the conclusion it wont work without changing out all the hoses and relocating the pump-in. Bit the bullet and ordered a P72 – its arriving tomorrow. A little sanding and some epoxy and Ill should be good to go.You want to buy a P79 cheap? Depends on which Transducer you are installing – the P72 is a small puck normally used on a tm.Your Signature …

I am trying to install a GT15M-IH in-hull transducer. Wondering if i can ust epoxy the transducer only to bottom of boat without using the “cup” filled with anti-freeze

That is the same size, a little shorter as the p79. From my understanding, the anti-freeze/mineral oil is to get better readings and not “freeze” in colder climates.Not sure about just epoxy. You may want to ask that question on the BBC Garmin board. It is monitored by a few Garmin experts.
