Topic: Gas in a P2?? For basscat

I filled up my P2 went fishing all day ran around burned about a quarter or so. Parked my boat under garage for about 2 weeks havent moved boat or put more gas in. Noticed today gas started coming out the air breather in back and the hole where you put gas in. Why would it do so all a sudden????

Check your vent. Dirt dobbers and spiders love those.

I would say that most likely you got the tank a bit too full. Its beginning to get hot in the south and when the fuel expands it comes out the vents when the tank is over-filled. Just checked out your post GRR884, that was an awesome fix.I just had the seats out of my classic. I wish I would have seen your post I would have done the same thing to mine just to prevent any future sagging with the vent line.Jason Ferbrache – Edmond, OK 1995 Basscat Eyra

That is fuel somehow trapped in the vent line and pressure from heat seeping it out it seems. Sometimes the nose of the boat being too high causes this, thou there is a low spot to hold the fuel. We do think a more level position of parking is less of a concern from our experiences.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on May 20th, 2013, 12:24 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I rocked the boat back and forth with the gas cap open and it went down. I did have it jacked up in the front a bit ill try leveling it and see if it happens again. Thanks
