Gas smell?

Try leaving the lids on the fuel tanks propped open slightly. This is permeation on the duel system that bleeds out through the plastic fuel tank walls. We dont see in on all though occasionally have one. The best is to not top them off and we find the fuel vapors are not as bad. Though still can leak up through the vents on the fills. The topping off tanks are usually the ones we see it on most frequently. There are some with tank permeation, we also think they leak through the hose connections slightly. Also check the fuel tanks on top for worn gaskets from Ethanol. We will get more ideas tomorrow.BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 12th, 2012, 11:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I have the same problem with my 05 Classic. I also owned a “S” boat that had the same issue. I was able to solve the problem on the “S” boat by buying expandable foam insulation and spraying in the void of the side wall just behind the rod locker. The reason I havent tried this on my Classic is have you ever tried getting that over spray out of carpet?? Anyway, BCB do yall see any problem with me trying this on my Cat. Would it be better to go in through the back of the rod locker or would access be easier if I remove the seat pan? Thanks!!

I had a gas smell on my 95 PII. I couldnt find a leak. Finally, I replaced the fuel bulb and the smell disappeared. Could be something as simple as that.
