i just got a 98 II with two 26 gallon tanks. the boat is in excellent shape; only problem is the guy never did put gas in the starboard tank i dont think i want to just start pumping fuel in that tank but i do want to start using. it. i took the fuel fitting off and tried to look inside. i can see a bit of gas in the corner. i would have to take the whole gauge assembley off to get to it better any body got any input . oh it it seems to me it would be better to tie the tanks together and do away with the tank selecter
Just reset all the lines and use it. You should be fine with that. You can run a T fitting between the tanks if you prefer, though most just run the valve.
thanks bcb i shoud just put additive in there and fill it up.i was just worrid about any leftover old gas that was left in the tank altough its very minuate and i wasnt sure if the brown looking coating on the bottom of the tank would flake off and get to the engine .i took the bonet off the other day and it is a very clean motor. i only have 154 hours on it i didnt notice a inline fuel filter though. ill just leave the fuel selector on
Personally id put about ten gallons of fresh gas in and run it. If there is any issue ten gallons should show it, then fill er up and go ! p.s. I run Lucas fuel treatment in every tank, and have for years. Never an issue.
