Gas Thieves at LOZ 13mm

I keep my kitty on a lift at the 13mm. The cove with Lodge of Four Seasona Marina. I had filled the tanks end of last trip here. Tanks were dry this morning. 52 gallons gone somewhere else. I got called friends and it has happened to others in this area. A word of warning.

i have that same problem after my buddy takes my boat hehe!!! not meaning to make light of the situation just couldnt resist. havent heard of any fuel missing but props, electronics and gear always seem to grow legs. seems it gets worse as the economy does. sorry to hear about your loss. the only thing that would make it somewhat bearable would be catching the @$$h0le in the act

Sorry to hear about that LOZ, the only thing worse for me was when some a%*&*&ole stole my boat gear and all about 25 years ago! Loan shark is right, some one needs to catch!em in the act, and then….Chuck

For years I have keep my poles and gear in the boat while docked at the lake.Probably not a good idea to do that anymore.Unless I gps chip it and track the varments down.

Buddy of mine had his DC boat docked in the canal in Destin on a lift. Gas and prop missing.

My dock is guarded by Smith And Wesson 3 nights a week! You guess which 3 nights

LOZMan,Do you cover your boat? If not, start. I learned my lesson last spring; fortunately my alarm went off on my FTD and probably scared the $hit out of the would-be thief who pried open my port rod locker.The BCB alarm system is good insurance and protection–if you have it on your boat, USE IT. It wont stop the gas thieves, but will protect your gear.It would take some time and effort to siphon 52 gallons. Are you in 4 Seasons Marina, or just the same cove? Where did you gas up at; the marina gas dock, perhaps? Gary Hollander

Gary, Im in the same cove as the Lodge and gas at Point Oasis because it is all non ethanol there. We have guards at the entrance and guards patrol the docks hourly. The Cat is always covered if I am not there. WISH I had an alarm system but have not had a problem until now. After taliking to people around this area, it appears a lot of things are disappearing–props, batteries, etc.. No longer will I leave equipment out or not lock up. One of the locals ran off a boat with 4 shirtless guys who had a long hose and a hand pump in their boat. Wish he had called the cops.

leave a gas can filled with sugar and gas on the dock! and wait they wont be needing fuel for awhile!!
