I have Smart Craft gauges on my Cougar. The nexsyslink gauges werent available when I got my boat. I do like the extra info that you get from the advanced gauges. Im a weekend angler too. I dont know if I can say they are worth it. If I ever do get another new Cat, I will likely opt for the standard gauges, as I will be on a fairly tight budget.
It becomes a matter of opinion. If you fish one reservoir, never really travel long distance or compete, then probably not. If you ever need GPH fuel information, top end RPM exact and a history, then yes. The end cost runs about $650 and you dont have to have a Water Pressure with NexSysLink as they have a large window if you so choose. Analog gauge W/P would add another $100- $120 also which makes the net cost on base NexSys about $550-$570. In that case its probably a nice touch.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on September 2nd, 2013, 3:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Im just a weekend angler and love the nexsyslink gauges. All the engine data right at your fingertips. Alarms, faults, Fuel GPH, Oil tank level, the info just goes on and on.
BCB, so what you are saying is the nexsys gauges are only a $200 upgrade? I surely thought they were more than that.

Mark, Next time youre coming down to Candlewood, take a look at mine. I have the NexSysLink gauges. I will walk you through the features I like and use. Let me know if you need a test drive. Last edited by 06CatDriver on September 3rd, 2013, 10:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
We assume you have SmartCraft Gauges and those are not removable. Polishing them is your only option. Pull the bezel and tape the outside well, then just compound then by hand.
Yes Im sure your right on the smart gauges just a standard polishing compound
I use a Polish called SAFECUT. the bottle I have are old. Ive heard they have changed the product some (as the saying goes not quite as good as it once was). This product works very well on lexan, plexi, and similar products. Works really well on the windshields on boats. Way back I bought a gallon and works way better than average2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Thanks Ill see if I can find some are something similar
Can I buy new liens for the gauges on my Pantera lll
They have gone to Mercury SmartCraft or the Yamaha Command series of upgrades to the analog Quicksilver gauges.
