Gel coat matching

I purchased a used 2008 from this forum and not real pleased with the boats cosmetic shape. I know its my fault not walking away once I seen the most obvious issues, but this stuff was not disclosed and my trip to pick up was 31 hours round trip. My question is, does BCB sell gel coat that would match? The repairs on the boat now, doesnt match. Its a few shades off as I have now gone through the boat with a fine tooth comb and my OCD has kicked in.Butch P

Every used purchase has this phase. If it floats and runs its good- boat is almost 10 years old. Youll get over this shortly regardless!Just email [email protected] if u dont have a dealer close and they can send u gel based on hull id. May? take a bit as plant shutdown for inventory and dealer meeting soon but I may be on crack?Please remember u gonna need to buy catalyst for gel separate and if the gel has flake it will be thicker than u might like for small applications. They will be glad to send the gelcoat out unless it was some odd ball special color.

Thanks for the input. The cap is burgandy with flake and hull is a standard white. The white is what Im needing. I dont plan on getting the gel corrected until the off season as I dont want to keep it tied up for weeks at a shop.Butch P

Have your hull vin handy when you talk to parts they will have the colors based off the cin and if you havent registered it with them u should the lifetime warranty is the deal along with quest.

Thanks, was unaware about registering with Quest. Just did this. I assume this is for the lifetime hull warranty.Butch P

Well to add to the already buyers remorse of cosmetics, had to put the boat in the shop and the so called 116 hrs motor turns out to be 300! Computer was changed out in 2014 with 174 hrs on it. Cracked head, compressor bad, diaphragm bad, fuel line replaced, oil pump had to be replaced and several other things. There are some dishonest folks out there…smhButch P

We assume you had to get these things repaired? If not then perhaps those are on the Mercury report and it is in running order. 300 hours on a 2008 is only estimated at less than 15,000 miles on your car. We dont think thats an issue.

BCB, you assume correct and as far as hours, I went in buying the boat with a report from seller with compression and hours documented 116.4. No mention of all the other issues or engine computer changed out. And yes my honest mechanic actually did a history report and uncovered other issues that the motor had. Only wish I had done my due diligence before bringing it home.Butch P
