Need some recommendations as to how and what to use to remove fine scratches on black gel coat? I have a lot of swirl marks that I want to remove. Thanks for the recommendation. Eric

Swirl marks are easiest to hand polish with Finesse by 3M company.

I have Malibu red! I bought a electric da buffer. Used a variety of waffle pad. (Colors) . Used the finesse it. Works like a charm! Da buffer is alot quicker. And want hurt gel.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

I have Google the Finesse It, there is several different types with this name. Can someone give me a 3M part number to make sure Im getting the correct one. Thank for your help.

buy you a good buffer w/ the waffle pad as suggested above. I buy the 3m polish that will say heavy oxidation remover, medium and so forth. depending on the depth of the scratches is what I would start with. the polish isnt cheap but it does make quick work w/ the buffer. the gel is crazy hard so as long as you dont let it get real dry or heavy handed, you should be fine.DO NOT DRILL HOLESANYWHERETHIS DOESNT HELP

35 years of paint and body experience and I have Malibu Teal which is black with Teal flake, and black gel coat on the bottom. I used “3m finesse-it” for years, and it was good stuff in its day. But technology has way surpassed it. I now use Meguirs 105 Ultra Cut compound for heavy scratches and finish with Meguirs 205 Ultra Polish to finish it off. Then put a good protector on top. Absolutely No Swirls whatsoever. And as already stated… A Polisher that will run as slow as 1500 RPMs and a dark grey 3m waffle pad for finishing, and white waffle for heavier cutting which it dont sound like you need. My 93 looks brand new!!

Actually, we cooperated with 3M within the last few months and the newer Finesse it is that good again. There may be shelf items left, though anything shipped since September should be good.
