Had the Classic at 72.5 this saturday with 3/4 tank of juice and all 245# of me and bunch of tackle. If I raised the motor a tad and could get Doug to buy me one of those 26 Fury props, may be able to touch 75. Awesome boat BCB, the longer I have it the more I love it. It is the perfect boat for me. Thumbs up.
26P Tempest, inner part of the jackplate slightly below the outter part (think it is how they come from the factory). I cant think the prop has been worked. I use to get about 70-71 at best out of it. Dont know if my driving is getting better or conditions were better. FYI Ward, I was out at lake maumelle, I was going toward the dam, so I guess it was downstream! I have hit 73.8 on the ar river but dont use that number cause the river was rolling pretty good, could have probably gotten a little more but started to get a little scary so I got out of it (early on). Ward if you wanna bring the PIV out to Maumelle and race, we can do that. Better get you now before you go on and get you one of those bigguns with a black motor on the back. Bobsquatch, what kinda prop you running, rpms you turning and speed you getting? I am hitting 5,800 with the 26 Tempest. I really want one of those Fury props, but if I am gonna lay down that kinda money would rather go ahead and pony up and get 797 w/ the SI.Last edited by lreddmann on September 30th, 2008, 1:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Sounds like you boys shoulda been fishin and not racin. Isnt that where team high society scored a buckshot? Sorry, couldnt resist. That 73.6 must have been before you ram mounted that gps and you were going off of the speedo! Time and place. If you run 73.6, you may have me.
oh lee theres no way Id keep up with that classic honestly. that speed was mod tackle and fumes in the tank…. you and D both got me now! as for the buckshot……did a little better sunday. not great but better.C.O.D. Jr. III
73.6 in a PIV is moving regardless of whats in the boat. I will have to be sure to give adam a fair amount of grief about it the next time I see him. Glad you guys did better Sunday. Was it you that posted the pic passing D on the river last year? That was funny…. not as funny as adam at the TNT weighin with a CCLR hat on, but funny none the less. Hate I am not in the market for a boat or I would be all over yours. The classic does move pretty good, but I looked the other day and my average speed is 38 mph. Good to know it is there if I need it. I try to spend most of my time with the troller down and the engine off. Ward, what are you gettin once you move the PIV?
