Folks, We have decided to end our use of Candy Apple Red. We will be using Brilliant Fire Red instead. The Candy Apple flake continuously came in contaminated and had a pink tinge in the color. Several of you may have noticed this. Unfortunately it is not something we control, thus we are ceasing use of that color. The Color Selector has or will be modified to suit the new color choices. So I have a collectors edition 08 FTD….THANKS BCB. I have noticed under the right light you can see the difference but outside I have never noticed.Brilliant Fire Red it is, sounds good! Judd Lasiter

Darn, i think that is the color thats on my 05 cougar and my future Cougar FTD was to have that candy apple red. Im confused if my boat is candy apple red or malibu red. You can see my boat in my images. let me know,. I probably need to call service and give them my vin or serial numbers so they can give me the colores. It wasnt on my invoice..at any rate can you post a pic of a boat with the new red? Im sure its an awesome color, but man that candy apple red flake sure turns heads up here in cali… as Paris hilton would say…THATS HOT… LOL.. thanks gabe

Gabe…it is probably candy apple because Malibu Red is black with red flake in it. In my opinion, Malibu Red is the finest of all of the colors that BCB offers. If I am ever able to purchase a new boat and order it, I can guarantee you that it will have Malibu Red as a primary color. If you go to Phil Addisons web site impactfishing.com and look at his boats, the first two Pumas that he had were both White/Malibu Red/Candy Apple. Just my two cents but those are two of the nicest looking Cats I have ever seen.Jason

I guess I should have looked at your images first. It appears as though you have both Candy Apple on the top cap and Malibu Red in the cap insert.

thanks Jason, yeah I figured it was candy apple red. Its a sweet bright red boat.. love that color, hope the new red is about the same… Well the Candy Apple Red color was the reason i bought it… long story short.. I was in the market to buy a boat, was looking at basscat among others but a BCB pro-staff buddy of mine was doing a boat show at the ISE show and said he had the cat for me there. My fiancee at the time did not want me to buy a boat, wanted to save for the wedding and such.. anyways, took her to the show and Chad Martin my buddy showed us the boat and my girl said wow, thats beautiful, lets buy it.. dam i love her!.. best boat we have ever owned. I told her i want to buy a new 2008 FTD and she said as long as the boat has the same colors.. looks like i may be stuck with 05 for a while..LOL. thanks, g

You will tell very little difference in the Fire Red and Candy Apple. Actually, we prefer the Red Black over both. BCB

My boat is Red Black cap and sides with a Red Malibu Bolt and an Black hull…. Red Black may be a confussing name for the color and it is close to Candy Apple but I agree its Neat.. I get so many compliments from other boat guys about the color of my boat the black in the Red just makes it jump in the sunlight and makes the flake look bigger and more pronounced Owner pictures PII Dan J.
