Why not create a video of your boats that show the layout and features of the boats? I think it would be a fantastic idea for several reasons. 1) Commercials featuring top pros like Iaconelli, Stone and maybe even the average Joe. “You too could have a boat just like Mike Iaconelli”. Tell me sales wouldnt rise! I have an absolutely great commercial for BCB. BCB, you can contact me – we can work something out 2) Some or most of us are not fortunate enough to be located close to a BassCat dealership. It would be a great marketing tool for folks like myself who are seriously considering a new boat. Some or most dealers dont even keep BassCats in stock. My local dealer is a great guy but the only boat in stock is a 2007 Sabre and a used tournament boat. This is my main gripe. The next closest dealer is MILES away. Its difficult to justify a purchase for something you cant see. 3) This could/would be a first for the bassboat industry. To my knowledge, no one else is currently doing this. 4) This shouldnt cost much – video links could be posted on YouTube or other similar sites (free). Ive seen some personal videos of boats but thats about it. 5) Boat Features/Options/Colors could be advertised in great detail. You could show your standard options and then show optional stuff like the Night Stalker or the Insert cover for the Trolling motor basin, Elite pkg upgrade features, Pop and Torx Axle, Optional Wheels, J.D. Powers Awards, etc… 6) You could provide a link to the BassCat web site. A lot of good comments and satisfied customers on here! Not to mention the attention to support. The catalogs are nice but they just dont do justice. It would also be nice for the current owners to post a video of their boats on Youtube type sites! If anyone has a video they could point me to let me know.FISH ON!
I am planning on doing the same to sell my p4!C.O.D. Jr. III
Actually there is a site that places streaming evaluations on and actual Captains drive and test units. We do not use the service as the cost is rather hefty for the limited sales that would be gained from such. All things are proportionate and we have plenty that we would like to do, though sometimes the expense is not worth the return. We try to invest those funds in better product and not a variable we cant capitalize on. Think about the cost to organize, setup, test and prepare the models, the film crew, the editing, the production, overnight lodging and meals, travel costs in and out of an area. This becomes a very expensive concept fast. Then the return on our volumes is not there. We do have plenty we were working on for internet users and somehow we lost a designers interest. We do plan on firing that one back off though and you will all like the results when it is competed. Thanks for the thoughts! BCB
Maybe someone should look into a low budget filming and put them on YouTube… at least people thats not been around the boats can get a good look at them. Something as simple as a dealer could offer something as such…
Thanks for the reply BCB. Initially I didnt consider a lengthy concept as you mentioned but I can understand where you wouldnt want to advertise something without it being a quality production. Ill keep watching the site for enhancements/announcements for us internet users. Please keep me/us posted and thanks. Maybe you could call Ike up and ask him if he would be willing to share a video? :>) (I heard a BassCat commercial playing on TV this passed weekend but I didnt get back in the TV room quickly enough to see it). I think it was on the Versus channel?Maddoxbay – good idea. Your suggestion is right on target. A dealer or even a private owner could produce a low budget video like this and it would not reflect badly on BCB since its more of a personal posting. If anyone happens to run across one please let me know. Place the URL for the video in this post – thanks!FISH ON!
Funny, but I do this exact thing. I own a Bass Cat, but I made this ( Demo ) video in less than two hours for a local dealer that would like to see what I can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki0IjbYcqgE ( click ” watch in HD ) or http://ttz1.com/ttz-tv/ ( check out my Bass Cat film boat here and check out the flash resolution I can achieve ) I am planning to make another one, much better with my buddies 08 Cougar. I would love to come up to Mountain home AR and video a walk trough of the new 09, maybe some shots of production floor, an interview with Rick Pierce talking about the care and pride that is built into a Bass Cat. I will do everything myself, film, edit, create, publish to youtube and everywhere for far less than a Production company or service. Contact me if interested. The power of video is amazing, and the power of the internet far out weighs the cost of TV sports channel ads. Eric
BCB, did not Ivan do a walk thru of a Pantera 2 in the early 90s.? Or was it done thru a dealer.? If I remember right, it was from Bucksaw Marine in Mo. It was on a VHS tape.(I know) Oh well, guess I will show my age, but it was pretty cool. They even ran it on the Lake.Again, if I remember it was on Truman Res. Just wondering if I am dreaming or if it was the real thing. Any idea.? pant 2 Bob
That Legend was one flat running boat. No wonder it would only do 72.6. Also LOL at 72.6 mph you can take your hand off the wheel!! I can do that in a cat at over 80! I dont recommend it to anyone who would want to try and dont have the experience behind the wheel.
Oh yeah, I liked that . Something with a little more detail would be great for BassCats. Nice job BasserTX! A little Golden EarRing to go along with it – nice touch :>)FISH ON!
Thanks guys. Yes the Legend does not fly like a cat for sure, but still a decent float. If you like that style, my crew and I have more vids at TTZ1.com here is the direct link. http://ttz1.com/ttz-tv/ The Legend deal was just a demo vid for a specific reason, but if you type in Legend or Bass Boat, it is indexed in the top 3 per you tube search. That vid is being watched a 100 times a day. Just the power of the internet. What I have in mind for the Bass Cat video will be really sick. I will post it up when done. stay tuned. Eric
