Can someone measure from the bow rub rail underside of their boat to the start of their Hambys? 2008 Cougar…I am installing a Hamby lite and would like to know a general measurement to start based on where the factory installs them on this boat. Thanks
Something else to consider. Where is your front transducer? If its in the hull like my Sabre youll want to find it and mark it. You dont want the Hambys covering the puck.
where boat first contacts beach or ramp. I pretty much found that spot. I will re-measure from the bow eye to see where that would put me. BCB can you tell me where the front puck is usually located if this will be an issue? Thanks
Mark, my boat was factory rigged and I am amazed at how well the front d/f gps works even on plane at 50+ mph, Im not sure where the puck is but I dont think it will be a prob on puma/cougar rigging. once again best of luck
They are in the flat portion of the Vee, just behind and where it transitions for the pad. You can check it with a stethoscope for location. You can hear them ping on the hull. BCB
I put it on this morning. I have a stethoscope for vibration only but I was able to hear the slight clicking of the ping which is a bit further back then I first expected. On mine it is as it is flatter a bit back from the transition but I was able to locate it and apply the protector and all went well. Looks good and should function well. Thanks for the help.
