Hambys question

Year model? Factory or aftermarket install?

We think it was probably installed here. We would put it back up with urethane, though it was not done that way originally. The tube type for windshields is what we use on all of them now.

I thought the Hambys had a lifetime warranty ? Why else would someone pay $500 to $600 vs the $150 to $200 for the Keel Shield or Keel Gaurd

The trailing end of mine came lose also. I contacted Hamby and they told me this is common due to improper instalation. They explained that the hull needs to be scuffed with a Scotch bright pad in the area were the Hamby makes contact with the hull. they explained the problem is most doing the installs holds the Hamby to the hull and marks were it will go then scuffs the hull. Then when they use the straps to hold the Hamby is place while the epoxy cures the presure from the straps acually pulls the Hamby tight to the hull which makes it longer then the scuffed area. Hence they come lose were the hull was not scuffed. They sent me a 2 part epoxy and a 3M pad + 2 Hamby beer cozys. I was suprized that the 2 part eoxy was acually the same stuff that you would use to make the glass like finish on wood clocks that you can get at most hobby stores. I pulled back the Hamby “about 1.5 inches” and scuffed the hull. I use a peice of Wood 4X4 I had that would fit between the garage floor and the keel standing on end. I then applied the epoxy to the hull and Hamby. stood the block of wood on end between the floor and keel and let the toung jack down to put presure on the Hamby. I wiped off the access epoxy and let it cure for a day or 2. “Good as New”

Sorry forgot to mention mine was not a BCB factory install. It was a dealer install. However the last 1.5 inches was defiantly not scuffed on mine. Might be a good idea to start strapping/installing the Hamby from the trailing end were the scuffing starts as the end nearest the bow would be less effected.
