Topic: Has anyone mounted a speaker near the front on a Cougar?

I would like to get more sound from my stereo up to the front of my 06 Cougar FTD. The speakers are in the normal place on each side of the seats but when the music is loud enough for the person in the back, it is not loud enough for me on the front deck. Does anyone have a pic of some speaker(s) on the front deck area? I have looked into the seat speakers but my seats are in good condition and was not looking to spend $750 to get more sound to the front. Thanks for all your help.Troy West

Mount a set of outdoor canister speakers in a selected location. There is limited deck room in the side panels and you may have to come out the fronts of the consoles to gain the desired sound with enough quality. There are limited speaker choices in poly speakers.

I saw front speakers on an 04 PIV. The speakers sound was very good. They also hung over the deck and cut down on rod and foot space. The PIV was in great condition but I would have removed the speakers if I bought the boat. In the end, I moved on another rig because of the front speakers. Just saying that the owner may like them but potential buyers might walk away because of them.

If you have room above the ice chest on the interior walls of the rod boxes, then that area is a good location for speakers. Size is a question there also.

flush in the Deck!!!!! 12inch sub, 4 6 1/2inch speakers in the deck, that would rock, or vibrate….
