Having issues with 2003 Merc 150 xr6 on my Sabre (It is Carb not Fuel injected)

I take off from the dock to head out fishing. I fish my spot for 45 minutes and decide to move to another spot. I start the enging, put it in gear , It runs for 20 seconds or so and dies. When this happens i pump the primer ball until it gets full , start the engine and take off and it seems to run fine. Every time i stop to fish it seems todo this time after time. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here? Thanks guys

Could this be a bad primer bulb(check Valve) and the fuel is all running out of the engine when i stop to fish? I was thinking it was the fuel pump but if it was why would it run fine after i prime the bulb and take off?

Absolutely! If your on the water pup the primer and for a quick fix run to Walmart for a cheap bulb.
