Yes the HDS 8 will fit in the dash. Thats where mine is now installed. With the ABS plastic spacer modification, ( ECATs idea ) it fits, looks and functions clean! I personally wouldnt use the same power cord. To many things can go wrong with old wiring. LSS module comes with its own transducer when purchased. You will have to decide where to mount this, jackplate / hull. The module itself will then have to be installed. Pick a location out of the elements. Install a extra switch or find a seperate power supply that will kill the source when not in use. If you dont do this, the module will be using battery when the main power is on. No need to drain power when not needed.When purchasing your HDS, be sure to get the base model and not insight. You then can choose your mapping and the unit want be loaded with crap you dont need.Glynn

Yes, I had the person who installed mine to add a rocker switch on the flat surface area under the console so that its easily reached. What Im saying is,our rigs are so demanding for battery power, why not turn something off when we can. The LSS module is not using power unless you leave the main power on or the optional switch on.I also have a Detwiler hydraulic. A friend made this stainless bracket. Looking from the rear, the lower drivers side has an existing hole that makes this possible. Ive had no problems so far.
