I pulled the trigger this week on a Lowrance HDS-8 Gen 2 wStructure Scan, RAM D-11-U mount, Transducer Shield and Saver Spring bracket, and their cable management base plate for the RAM. BOE Marine gave me a great deal and with the 300.00 LOW rebate I couldnt be more pleased with the price. Im planning on locating the LSS-2 transducer on the lower right hand side (flat aluminum surface parallel to transom) of my 6″ SM jackplate by drilling and tapping then installing the spring bracket and transducer. Ill post pictures as soon as Im done. Now the hard part. I could really use some expert opinions, ideas, and photos of existing installations of the RAM mount and HDS unit. The Sabre FTD doesnt have rails and the only flat surface on the outside of the console big enough to accommodate the RAM mount base (3.68″ Dia) would require that the corner of the windshield be shaved a little. Doesnt seem to be enough room in front of the shifter to mount on the inside. Im considering mounting it on the port side of the console, but would like some other opinions, recommendations, etc. from those of you that have tackled this already. I know this subject has probably been brought up before, but I cant seem to find many pictures of installs on the Sabre FTD. Thanks so much in advance.Last edited by Guest on February 16th, 2013, 11:40 am, edited 1 time in total.
