It appears that my HDS -8 SI transducer may be installed backwards; images that should be on the left side of the boat are displayed on the right side.It is mounted in a Transducer shield on the slide master jack plate.The cable from the transducer comes out of the back side (furthest away from the transom). Is this correct?If so, is there a setting on the unit that allows me to reverse the image?thanksjwt

Yes there is a setting to change the view based on how the transducer is installed, i dont have the procedures in front of me right now but you can do that.

From the Lowrance site. I had to flip mine because the cable runs out the back (best position to avoid forward impact).NOTE: To access the StructureScan menu, press MEnu from a StructureScan page or from an active StructureScan panel.Flip Left/RightControls the orientation of the sidescan/downscan onscreen display.If the transducer is installed with the cabled end pointing away from the back of your boat (Direct Step Mount) or pointing away from the front of your trolling motor, you must turn on Flip Left/Right.That will ensure that what is on the left or right side of your boat underwater, will be shown on the corresponding side of the screen on your display unit.To turn on/off Flip Left/Right, highlight Flip Left/Right on the Structure Options menu and press Enter.Heres the link to the manual.http://www.lowrance.com/Root/Lowrance-D … 00_A_w.pdf
