Considering pulling the trigger on a HDS-7 Gen2. Anybody using them and have an opinion or comparison to the Gen1?

There are a few new features like backtracking and some imaging enhancements, otherwise they are only a faster processor. That is the significant benefit on Gen 2, which is why BCB began suggesting SIMRAD units to those on upper tier units. Those are touch screen and a much faster processor.

Just got my 8 Gen2 and I currently have two 7 Gen 1. Not a big deal other than the faster processor not much difference. I still like them both, user friendly and great buys. I am selling one of the 7s if you are interested and if not I have a connect that gets some of the best prices I know of. Either way if you need help let me know.

Thanks Jman. Ill probably decide how to proceed after window shopping at the Classic Expo. Nothing better than seeing everything in one place.
