Sir, You need to call Scott at the plant and tell him the problem. I had the same type of problem on a 03 Couger, a simple change out of the control panel “Should” do it for you. But you need to call Scott and explain the problem. Good Luck, Chuck
Well all I had to do was dump the dang water out of the circuit box where the touvch padd connects I guess I need to seal all the gauges on that side so water can not get in there. I would have thought that would be done at the factory?
It started blowing the harn on its on again. I guess I will need the touch pad and the black box from the factory. aaarrrggghhh!
The touch pad may have an issue, and we would leave it disconnected until you can contact Service on Monday. If you unplugged the touch pad, then perhaps it is backfeeding through the automatic switch on the pumps. Though since we do not know your year model we cant help much more. There are several different dashes on various year models of BCBs and we cant diagnose on the symptoms alone because they do function differently. Some use voltage in areas and other models do not have voltage in those same component functions. BCB
It is a 2007 Sabre there was about 1/2″ of water in the black box where the circuit board is. Everything was normal after I dumped the water and let it dry. Then it started again about 2 hours later. This is the second touch pad on the boat. It shorted out on the lot at Brech Marine where I took it for some work. You guys sent the pad to me and I installed it. It worked great for Sat no problems but I did not realize the box had water in it when I plugged it in. It apparently shorted out again. I will call tomorrow and talk to some one ther at BCB.
We assumed it was the Vision Touch pad, and those were under a recall going back to the installation period of original units. We will be more than happy to replace it again with the right stuff this time. BCB
BCB, What are the dates to be concerned with? John
There were only limited quantities in use and the dates obviously are null factor as some of the original designed touch pads slipped in somehow. Not sure how he got water under his dash panel and filled the master ECU though? The ECU is not potted though is conformal coated.
Water apparently leaked around on of the gauges on that side into the black box which was installed open side up. I talked to some one there at the factory and they were going to send me a new box and new touch pad. He also told me to mount the box open side down to prevent this from happening.
I can not get my bilge or recirculating pump to shut off. I even tried unplugging the touch pad still would not shut off. I had to unplug the wires at the pumps. How could I be getting direct power to them?
Fuel tank vent.
Yea I kinda figured it was a vent of some sort, but any clue on why it wont tighten back down to the top cap? Thanks Keith
Mine did the same thing a while back. There is a nut on the back side. I had to remove the chrome bilge scoop to reach the nut through the hole. screw the nut up a little them tighten the plastic vent cap. After I figured out what was going on I put a little silicone on the nut were it contacts the hull on the inside to stop the nut from backing off. also put a little where plastic vent contacts boat in splash well. have not had any more problems. You need to make sure the plastic vent cover has a gap between the end of the metal piece and the plastic or you will close off your vent.
Yes, the adjustment nut is loosened off and must be reset from the back side. You can remove it and tighten it out from the deck through the rear hatch and reset it assuming the distance you need to tighten it. That is sometimes easiest.
Thanks to all who responded…..
