Im charging my batteries and just noticed the first bank is flashing rapidly from green to red. I hope its nothing but Ive never noticed this before. Is that all right? Thanks!

Could be one of the following. 1. Bad battery – swap the leads on your charger and see if the blinking disappears. If so, then probably a bad battery. 2. Bad charger – with the leads swapped to another battery, if the blinking appears, then you may have a bad charging bank 3. bad connection If you suspect that you have a bad charger, then call Cul M Rite / Pro Pak (if you have that type of charger). Good people to work with and will further help diagnose your problem. Good luck.

Thanks Phil. I think it was a bad connection. I tightened up the terminal connection and it stopped. I was on some big water last time out and I guess it loosened the connection.

John, If you have wing nuts on your crank battery you need to replace them with ss nylon lock nuts…The wing nuts coming loose can cause more problems with your obs charging system too….Sherm

Thanks Sherm. Turns out when we got the boat out to Amistad the battery was dead — bad cell. They were closed, but we noticed TwoGuys out there on 90 had a BCB sticker in thier window. New dealer out there?

When the light on the charger is blinking red/green, it means that the charger is not recognizing your battery. This happens when the battery is run all the way down. My charger did the same today, but I found that I had left the power switch on and ran the battery all the way down. What I had to do was put an alternate charger on that battery and charge for 3 hours, then I plugged in the on board and it started charging like it was supposed to do. This has happened a few times and that is the sequence to get it back to normal. Hope this helps, SAMBAYOU BANDIT
