There have been quite a few posts, as BCBs stated, asking about Ram mounting units. I have saved some pictures and try to post some when the question arises. This is Mike Iaconellis boat that they are still rigging at the factory. As you can see they are mounting the Ram mount to the side. I think it is most common to mount to the side as in the pic above and the pic below. They are using some kind of plate on the back side to add strength.
