Topic: Help! Trailler brake issue…

Hey yall, I am very proud to say that I am now officially the owner of a Basscat P2. So here is my issue…I was backing my boat into my garage and when I unhooked from my truck, apparently the safety breakaway cable caught my trailer ball or something and pulled out. Now, my trailer brakes lock up when I am trying to reverse? I can go forward but when I put my truck in reverse, the brakes lock up. I tried to reset the actuator but they still lock up. I have a tandem axle BC trailer with surge brakes and I drive a 2010 Ford F-150 (if that matters).Anyone ever experienced an issue like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.Nathan

Did you reset the tab under the tongue? Will be a L shaped tab depress it. Also I would suggest going to ufp website and reading the manual on the ag60 actuator. It may need maintenance since the break away was pulled2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I googled that actuator and attempted everything they stated to re-set the brakes…

Sure you are getting 12v to the solenoid that locks out brakes when reverse lights are on? First, make sure you have backup lights. Second, make sure that when your truck is in reverse, AND the backup lights are on, that you have 12v between the white and blue wires on the connector. I drive s Ford as well though s 02. Mine from the factory didnt have the relay under the hood. Though if you had been using it probably not the issue. Though when you snatched the cable it maybe snatched the blue wire going to the solenoid loose.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

If you have not had the problem with that truck before, I would start by checking the electrical connections on the trailer, as one wire might have pulled loose.
