Help with 2002 opti 225 ?

Hello, Im asking this question for a friend who does not own a Basscat. He has been running a 2002 opti 225 for years with little to no problems. This year he is having problems getting up on plane. It will pop out of the water on the first run of the day and after that it will take forever to plane out. (No water in the live well, only loaded with one persons gear) Its been in the shop many times in the last few weeks with no improvement. Can anyone on this board help? Have any of you heard of a similar problem?Thanks, Ed

I had the same motor, the only issue I ever had that was like the that was fixed by changing out the fuel filter inside the cowling. Mike

It is hard to say, though it sounds like a fuel related issue. Check the fuel pump and the lines to the pump. Also the filter is a real time issue as it sounds like the trash settles, then relodges itself against the filter walls from fuel flow. BCB
