You have posted about your awesome upgrades (illuminated handrails and telescoping stern light) but how does that 200 SHO run?
Yes Yes!!Need some info here, I am thinking of a PII with one of these, I think this is the way to go out west.ThanksSteve
He is three hours in. He just got off the lake. He will be here soon to report but the speeds he was seeing under 4900 rpms are impressive. I have a feeling this is going to be a 75mph PIV.
I cant wait to hear, 75mph on a PIV is unreal. That is going to be a definite tourney rig for those looking to stay in the 19ft range.
1st hour I kept my PIV 200HP VmaxSHO under 3000 RPMs2nd hour I vary my RPMs between 3000 to 5000 RPMs.I am at 2.5 hours so far. Here are my numbers on Lay Lake with some current (not heavy or fast). At 4900 to 5000 RPMs I was running 63 mph mostly and touching 64 mph on the GPS. I think that is extremely impressive. I was using my 25p Fury Prop with plugs. I am not sure how this equates at WOT but I will say that these speeds were in 83° temps with heavy pollen. I had a blast behind the wheel. I was at 3/4 full trim and my Jack plate was same as my original HPDI setup. It looks to be 3/8″ above level jack plates. The hole shot is electrifying quick on the 200 HP VmaxSHO. My PIV was up on plane so much faster then my HPDI. The fun continues. To me the motor sounds is like a turbine engine compared to 2 stroke motor rumbles. This is an observation not a mine is better comment. Motor Noise: To me the Etecs low rumbling sound is ahead of the curve in the two stroke market. The VmaxSHO is whisper quiet in contrast. When you punch the VmaxSHO my audible impression relates to a sonic jet turbine engine that will throw you in the back of the seat. You have to be in a BassCat Pantera boat to fully appreciate my comments. So far I am impressed beyond my biased hype. The VmaxSHO is for real in the 200 HP motor class. I can only imagine the results will be even better with the Pantera Classic or PII in my opinion. However, there is nothing lacking or to be desired on my PIV!!!My PIV and VmaxSHO is a great setup and is way more impressive then my previous Series2 HPDI motor. I cant comment on Etecs or ProXs motors and will reserve judgment. They are both very impressive in their own right and and perform great on the PIV. However to think that a 4 stroke would be mentioned in the same class as these great motors is an achievement in its own right. Whats even more impressive is opening the battery box and not seeing an oil tank. Even better I dont have to worry about making sure its filled during my days on the lake. Nope, I dont have to worry about this for over 100 hours. It gets even better. My wallet is going to appreciate the dollars saved over that costly time line too.The VmaxSHO is a great evolutionary experience and is front and center right now. For SHO I am enjoying my PIV beyond measure going north and south on Lay Lake. Heck, I have two plus months to make up and I enjoying every bit of it. I can honestly say it been worth the wait. Oh, I forgot. This is a full tournament rig with empty livewells and 10 gallons in kicker tank and just a nudge below half a tank of gas under my center seats. Front boxes are full of my tackle, gear and and 10 fishing rods and reels.
You all know we felt the 200 was the future on this engine. It appears that Tom has a similar view now. The 250 is lots of fun and fast, though the 200 has potential to compete for those not having to press the envelope.
I cant wait to hear some numbers with the 200 SHO on a Pantera Classic or P2.

This VmaxSHO is going to be a 70 plus motor for all 19 BassCat boats. For me that meets all my expectations for ANY future tournament fishing endeavors. I cant imagine wanting to go any faster!
